YOU CAN DO IT

Dear Sons and Daughters of Odukpani, we are in a new world that answers to relevance.

Is your day-to-day paid for tech skills?

You can make that switch as a farmer cultivating the earth, a trader selling wares in a busy market, a retiree with years of experience, a student chasing dreams, a teacher imparting knowledge, a civil servant administering some system, an artisan delivering an output or even an entrepreneur mounting a series of empires. There lies the same truth, the world is moving and it's on the speed lane of the digital highway.

Know this, trucks are driving themselves and tractors would soon be talking to the satellites, the market stall will now have customers from the other side of the world, the retiree will be consulting, teaching and earning from their homes as the artisan's work is purchased from countries they have never stepped into. This is not wishful thinking but a fact that you own some tech skills and you are continuously scaling up on them.

The future will not ask about your age, background or past struggles. It is going to determine, Can you adapt? Can you create? Can you connect? And if your answer is "yes," then that will be the moment when you dared to learn, unlearn and relearn.

So, get the skill. Then sharpen it. Then sharpen it again. The plough has changed. The pen has changed. Even the handshake has changed. The only way forward is to embrace the new tools and master them before the future leaves you behind.

What is Your Passion and Area of Concentration? There is a skill set for everyone in every niche.

Dear Odukpani youths and elders, women and men, take that bold step upwards, yes! You Can Do It

Rt. Hon. Ukpong, Etim Asido
The Executive Chairman, Odukpani Council
